Privacy Policy
The short version
Facebook Pages Sync runs entirely on your own computer. It has no server, no database, and no account system. The developer receives no data from it — none at all. Information about your Facebook Pages travels from Facebook to your computer and into a Google Sheet that you own, and nowhere else.
1. What the app is
Facebook Pages Sync is a personal productivity tool that a person installs on their own Windows computer. It reads the list of Facebook Pages you already manage and records them in a Google Sheet that belongs to you, so you can see all of your Pages in one place.
2. There is no server
The app is not a website and not a hosted service. There is no backend, no cloud component, and no developer-operated infrastructure of any kind. The developer cannot see, collect, receive, store, log, or access any of your information, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.
No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no usage statistics, no advertising identifiers, and no tracking of any kind are built into the app.
The only three places the app ever connects to

Anthropic
Only if you switch on the optional help assistant yourself.
3. What the app accesses from Facebook
You authorise the app through Facebook Login, Meta’s official authorisation flow. The app never asks for, receives, handles, or stores your Facebook password. You type your password only on Facebook’s own website, in your own browser.
It requests these two permissions, and no others:
pages_show_list
To obtain the list of Facebook Pages you are already an admin of. Without it, the app has nothing to sync.
pages_read_engagement
To read each Page’s follower count and, if you switch the feature on, to count that Page’s published posts.
Using those permissions, the app reads the following for each Page you administer: Page ID, Page name, Page URL, follower count, the number of published posts (only if you enable the optional “Total Posts” feature), and your own account name, which is shown in the app so you can confirm which account is connected.
The app reads only Pages on which you already hold an admin role. It does not read your personal profile content, your friends, your messages, your photos, your posts, your ad accounts, or any Page belonging to anyone else. It never publishes, posts, comments, deletes, or modifies anything on Facebook — every Facebook operation it performs is a read.
4. What the app does with Google
You authorise Google separately, through Google’s official OAuth flow. As with Facebook, your Google password is never seen by the app. Two scopes are requested:
drive.metadata.readonly
To show a list of your existing spreadsheet names so you can pick one. This scope cannot read the contents of any file.
spreadsheets
To create a new spreadsheet for you if you ask it to, and to write Page rows into the one sheet you selected.
The spreadsheet belongs to your Google account. The developer has no access to it and is not a collaborator on it. The app writes only to the single spreadsheet and tab you choose, and does not read, alter, or delete your other Drive files.
5. Where your data is stored
Your Page information lives in exactly two places, both of which you control:
- Your Google Sheet — the Page rows and the sync log, held in your own Google account under Google’s terms.
- Your computer — the access tokens and settings the app needs in order to reconnect without asking you to sign in every time.
On your computer, that file is %APPDATA%\facebook-pages-sync\secrets.enc. It is encrypted using the Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI), which ties the encryption to your Windows user account. If someone copies that file to another computer, or opens it under a different Windows account, it cannot be decrypted. If Windows encryption is unavailable, the app refuses to save tokens rather than writing them unencrypted.
Stored in that file are: your Facebook access token, your Google refresh token, the Meta App Secret and Google client secret you entered during setup, and — if you added one — your Anthropic API key. None of these values are built into the application; each user supplies their own, so sharing the program with a friend shares no credentials.
6. The optional AI help assistant
The app includes a built-in help chat. By default it works entirely offline, answering from a list of common problems stored inside the program. In that mode, nothing leaves your computer.
If you choose to paste your own Anthropic API key into Settings, the chat becomes a live assistant. From that point, when you type a question:
- your question text is sent to the Anthropic API;
- a short, non-secret summary of the app’s state is sent with it — for example, whether Facebook is connected, whether a sheet has been chosen, and whether automatic sync is on;
- your access tokens, your API keys, your Page data, and the contents of your spreadsheet are never sent.
Those requests go from your computer directly to Anthropic and are handled under Anthropic’s privacy policy. The developer is not involved in and cannot see that exchange. The feature is entirely optional: if you never add a key, no such request is ever made, and removing the key in Settings switches the chat back to offline mode immediately.
7. What is never done with your data
- It is never sold, rented, licensed, or traded.
- It is never shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party.
- It is never used to build a profile of you or to target advertising.
- It is never transmitted to the developer, who operates no server capable of receiving it.
- It is never obtained by scraping, by browser automation, by extracting session cookies, or by any means that bypasses Meta’s or Google’s authentication. The app uses official APIs only.
Your data, your control
8. Data deletion instructions
Because nothing is held by the developer, deletion is entirely in your hands and takes effect immediately.
Revoke access to Facebook
- In the app, open Dashboard and press Disconnect on the Facebook card. The stored token is erased at once.
- To revoke from Facebook’s side as well, visit Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites, select Facebook Pages Sync, and choose Remove.
Revoke access to Google
- In the app, press Disconnect on the Google Sheet card.
- To revoke from Google’s side, visit Google Account → Third-party apps & services and remove the app’s access.
Delete everything stored locally
- Uninstall the app from Windows Settings → Apps, then delete the folder
%APPDATA%\facebook-pages-sync. That folder holds every token, key, and setting the app ever saved. Once it is gone, nothing remains.
Delete the Page data itself
- The Page rows are in your own Google Sheet. Delete the rows, the tab, or the whole spreadsheet from Google Drive, exactly as you would any other file of yours.

9. Data retention
The app keeps your tokens and settings on your computer until you disconnect, remove the folder described above, or uninstall. There is no retention period set by the developer, because the developer holds nothing to retain. Data in your Google Sheet remains for as long as you keep it.
10. Security
All communication with Facebook, Google, and Anthropic uses HTTPS. Credentials are encrypted at rest with Windows DPAPI and are bound to your Windows user account. The application window itself is sandboxed and has no access to your tokens; secrets are handled only by the app’s background process and are never exposed to its user interface.
No system is perfectly secure, and the security of your computer and of your Facebook and Google accounts remains your responsibility. Keeping Windows updated and enabling two-factor authentication on both accounts is strongly recommended.
11. Children & third parties
The app is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 13 years of age. It knowingly collects no information from children.
Your use of the app also involves services operated by others, each under its own terms: the Meta Privacy Policy, the Google Privacy Policy, and — only if you enable the optional AI assistant — the Anthropic Privacy Policy.
12. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this same address with an updated “Last updated” date.
